How My Body Clock Changed After China—and How It’s Shifting Back in 2025
When I went to China for my Huawei CPIA – Datacom training from May to October 2024, my entire routine took a surprising turn. I expected a hectic schedule and long, tiring days, but what I experienced was quite the opposite—my body clock adjusted in a way I never anticipated.
A Relaxing Change of Pace
During my five-month stay, I found myself sleeping well, relaxing more, and chilling despite the training. The workload was manageable, and even though I was learning a lot, the environment allowed me to slow down. I didn’t have to wake up too early or push myself to the brink of exhaustion. For once, I felt balanced—something that had been missing from my usual routine back home.
Back to Reality in 2025
But as 2025 rolled in and I returned to my regular responsibilities, the calm I enjoyed in China quickly faded. Staying up late became the norm again—whether for preparing research proposals, organizing career development seminars, or brainstorming initiatives for my role at ISAT U. At first, it felt good to be “in the zone” again—productive, focused, and driven.
Losing Balance Again
Unfortunately, that focus came at a cost. I started prioritizing work over self-care. I wasn’t skipping meals or rushing through them, but I could feel the imbalance creeping back. The idea of slowing down started to feel like a luxury, and before I knew it, I was losing sight of the relaxed mindset I had built in China.
A Gentle Reminder
This shift back to my “normal” wasn’t entirely positive. It made me realize how easy it is to fall into unhealthy routines when you’re passionate about what you do. But I’m learning (again) that productivity shouldn’t come at the expense of self-care.
As I navigate 2025, my goal is simple: maintain the same level of focus and dedication—without losing myself in the process. After all, success feels much better when you’re healthy enough to enjoy it.
